Saibaba OF Shirdi also Known as Shirdi ke sai baba was an indian spiritual master . He was Saint, Fakir and satguru. His devotees were both Hindu and Muslim . it remained uncertain that he was Hindu or Muslim .

Sai Baba is worshiped by people all around the world .  He had no love towards perishable things.  His sole concern was self-realization . His message was to spread love , forgiveness, helping others , inner peace and evotion to other dharma gurus . He did'nt belive in any cast or any religion . Sai baba tought us spirituality from both religions Hindu and muslim .  He gave name Dwarkamayi to a mosque where he was living . He practiced Muslim rituals but was burries as a hindu in Shirdi . One of his famous line was "Sab ka Malik Ek"

 If we talk about Sai Baba's real name and his background , i mean about his history like birth , birthplace  these all information are unknown and when ever he was asked about these questions or about his persnal life questions he always gave elusive responses . The name 'Sai' was given to him after his arrival in Shirdi by a local saint of Mahalsapati temple because he recognized him as a muslim saint so he greeted him with the words 'Ya Sai ' , It means wel-come Sai . Sai or Sayi is Persian title to given Saints. It means Poor Saint .  And the Baba means in Indian culture Old man or father or grandfather .

If we saw in early years according to book sai Satcharita Baba arrived to Shirdi when he was 16 years old. He practiced meditation under the neem tree motionlessly , the people of town were shocked to see so young boy practicing this type of very tough penance withouth fearing of any cold or hit , night or day .  Some thought he was mad so throw stones at him .  Ther is some information that he met many saints and fakir , He claimed that he had been part of Rani Laxmi Bai army durring the Indian Rebellion of  1857 . Sai Baba lived in Shirdi first three years then he disappeared for feaw years and again retuned and stayed here his whole life .

The temple was renovated durring 1998-99 and now equiped with all basic facilities like Darshan lane , Prasadalay , donation counter , Prasad counter , Railway reservation counter, Book stall canteen etc . This says that anybody who visits trayambakeshwar attains salvation. There is no sacred place like trayambakeshwar , no river like Godavari, no mountain like Brahmagiri etc. The reasons for its being so sacred are  - Godavari river originates in this place, its a place of Tri-Sandhya Gayatri, the birth place of Lord Ganesha, a place of the first Nath of Nath Sampradaya consisting of Gorakhnath and others,  a place where Nivrittinath was made to imbibe the holy knowledge by his Guru Gahininath, a place where Nivrittinath made his brothers and sister attain the self by his preaching. This is the holiest place to perform Shraddha ceremony. Nirnaya Sindhu - a religious book of Hindus, mentions that this place, where Sahyadri mountain and Godavari river exist is very purifying on the whole earth and is therefore very important for performing Shraddha ceremony.

At the time of the marriage of Lord Shiva with Parvati, all the Devarshis gathered together. Brahmadev, the creator of the Universe, seeing the beauty of Parvati, had a discharge of semen. Lord Shiva observing this, offered him water of Ganges, the purest water and said, "You will wipe off your sin by this water". Brahmadev kept the holy water in his kamandalu (a particular container made out of dried fruit carried by Sadhus) and was purified by its bath.


Its religious significance

Sinhastha Mahatmya speaks of Lord Rama having made the Yatra at Trimbakeshwar. A shraddha on the river Godavari gives great satisfaction to the forefathers. If it is not done in this place, it is considered as a religious sin. So Ganga Pujan, Ganga Bhet, Deh Shuddhi Prayaschitta. Tarpan Shradha, Vayan, Dasha Dana, Gopradan etc. Rituals are done in Trimbakeshwar.  Mundana and Tirtha Shraddha are also performed here.


Kushavarta is called as Teertharaj, since it has six corners. After finishing the tirtha-yatra at Kushavarta, a pilgrim should proceed by the northern bank of Godavari and visit Nilsangameshwar, Vivah Vinayak, Satya Narayan, Dhaneshwar Mahadev, Tarangeshwar, Setupaleshwar etc.


The Lord Shiva at trayambakeshwar is worshipped by recitations of Rudra, Rudri, Laghu Rudra, Maha Rudra or Ati Rudra puja.  Actually Rudrashak is a religious fruit which is said to be found in lord Shiva's neck in the form of  Rudra garland. History of Trimbakeshwar

Here is the all history about this historic place . Trimbakeshwar temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Trimbakeshwar town is an ancient Hindu Pilgrim centre located at the source of the Godavari River.. The Godavari River, which is considered sacred within Hinduism, originates from Bramhagiri Mountains at Trimbakeshwar and meets the sea near Rajahmudry. There was a demon Tripurasura who did penance in the jungle of Bhimashankar very long ago i.e. in Tretayug, to please Lord Shiva in order to achieve the gift of immortality.
Lord shiva, who is specially known for his kindness towards his devotees, was pleased with Tripurasura's commitment towards him. So as usual, he blessed him with the power of immortality with a condition that, "He should strive in the best interest of people, or he may be sued permanently for violating the condition. "
With the flow of time, Tripurasura forgot the condition to which he was abided, and eventually started harassing people as well as other deities. There was a chaos for which all the deities approached Lord Shiva for remedy.
Thus in order to sue Tripurasura, Lord Shiv prayed to Goddess Parvati (Kamalaja Mata) in order to help him to accomplish this task. Accordingly Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati underwent a new form which is popularly known as "Ardha-Narya-Nateshwar" and killed Tripurasura on Kartik Pournima which is known as "Tripurari Pornima".
After the death of Tripurasura his wives (Dakini and Shakini) went to Lord Shiva with a question of their existence without Tripurasura. Thus Lord Shiva blessed both of them, with the power of immortality which he did to Tripurasura. Henceforth the realm Bhimashankar is known as "Dakinyam Bhimashankaram".
