Swaminarayan temple in Atlanta is a hindu place of worship and a place for mental peace . It is also full of activities like social ,cultural and spiritual . The opening of temple was done in August of 2007 . It was built only in 17 months hardwork of volunteers. There were 3 types of stones used during the construction of this temple . The stones were carved in india and imported to Atlanta .

In 1980 at atlanta some swaminarayan devotees started gathering at eachothers home for a religious perpous . And the number of people in this gathering started increasing so they need to find any place where so many people can meet and pray so they bought a rink in 1988 and made BAPS mandir there .
Then with Pramukh swami maharaj's inspiration they decided to make mandir in Atlanta . With the blessings of Pramukh Swami Maharaj in 2000 , a twenty nine acre plot on rockbridge road was purchased in lil burn GA a quiet suburban town of Atlanta. A Puja was done by pramukh swami maharaj so the construction could be begin .
